Smartphone-Friendly Outing
Saturday, February 21, 2026 9am-2pm
Cost: $150
This is a great half-day outing that we have offered in the past and has been quite popular with participants, capturing some really neat images. Everyone will be driving their own vehicles, and we will be meeting at the NC Transportation Museum in Spencer, NC (about an hour) at 9am. We will spend the morning going around the property, which includes lots of opportunities for photos of cars, trains, the roundhouse, and more. The Museum offers plenty of subjects for participants to practice low-light shooting, and good composition, as well as working on foundations like exposure, depth of field, etc. My team and I will be there to help, offer hints, and to make sure you get the images that you want. We will officially wrap up the photography time at 1pm and then head to a nearby BBQ restaurant to have lunch together (included) before departing for Charlotte. This trip is for all levels of photographers and is Smartphone-friendly. The cost includes admission, lunch, all instruction, and a checklist of suggested camera settings. Minimum 5 participants, maximum 10
